You’ll never find your passion written on a piece of paper.  You might try to take a quiz online or watch some YouTube videos but obviously, people are insanely unique!  These resources may very well point you in the right direction but ultimately you may still be scratching your head with the slightest idea of what you should be doing and quite possibly in a bit of a panic.
Finding your passion
I’ve experienced this firsthand more times than I can count on both of my hands.  And I can tell you that no one, not even your Moma, can tell you what you’re meant to do with your life. It seems every corner you turn on the internet these days, someone has found their passion and is now making money, in love and life is just effing perfect.  So there seems to be an immense sense of urgency around the issue.  So much so at times I found myself just looking through lists of words and professions waiting for one to jump out and bite me in the… heart.
No one, not even your Moma, can tell you what you’re meant to do with your life.

Finding your passion

Everyone, even those of us that struggle to define our passion in concrete words, knows exactly the life we want to live each day.  For some of us, we know this right down to the color of our future Kitchen Aid mixer.  We can all imagine what a great day would look like.  But what’s important is how it feels.

Do this now… Try to imagine what a really great day would be like.  What time would you get up?  What’s the first thing you would do?  And what would you eat for breakfast?  Who would you spend your time with?  What would you do?  Play out the whole day in your mind.  What’s your favorite part of this perfect day?  Do you notice any themes or patterns?

This information is the essence of your passion.  Passion is a feeling after all.  It’s not a job title so stop trying to confine it to such a small space.  It’s kind of a big deal so allow it to be a more complex idea.

Now, think about ways you can start feeling your perfect day today?  This could look like going for a walk or drinking coffee while listening to the birds or maybe running tomorrow at dawn.  Start implementing these actions into your everyday life and soon enough my friend, you will be living a life full of passion.

We all know exactly what we want…. we’re just afraid that we’re wrong or that we can’t do those things.  You’re not wrong and you can do those things.
Through clarity and small changes you can get closer and closer to that vision of your perfect day.  A day full of passion.
